Black Tie Ball
10 June 2006
This year’s SCAN Black Tie Ball saw 88 staff, friends and partners enjoy a fantastic night at the Holland House Hotel on Saturday 10 June... and raise £1,200 for Tenovus in the process!
After a drinks reception in the foyer, guests were ushered through to the Caenarfon Suite where Louise Casella, Chair of the SCAN Committee, introduced the evening, and kicked off proceedings with a game of ‘heads or tackle’. Guests were then treated to a delicious three course dinner with wine before Simon Morgan-Jones, a Health Education Officer for Tenovus, made a speech highlighting the role of Tenovus, and the importance of raising cancer awareness and educating the public on key health issues.
Following this reminder of the purpose of the evening, guests dug deep in their pockets to give generously to the cause. They were helped in ridding themselves of their money by a game of ‘call my bluff’ (Louise Casella kindly donated some facts for this!), a whisky roll and a raffle. Among the fantastic prizes up for grabs were a chalet weekend in the French Alps, provided by Sixt Alpine Chalets, a night’s accommodation in the Holland House Hotel and lunch for two at the Hilton Hotel.
The evening drew to a close with a disco and inhibitions were definitely shed on the dancefloor! As you can see from the photos, many female guests went ‘full length and fabulous’ while men adhered to the smart black tie dress code in honour of the evening’s theme.
Black Tie Portraits were present throughout the event and took a number of photos of everyone having fun. To view and purchase images of the evening (including those on this site) please go to the Black Tie Portraits website. Black Tie Portraits will donate £1 to Tenovus for every photograph sold.
Thank you to everyone who attended, donated and enjoyed themselves on the night!
